1. Rental Periods, Upfront Bookings & Weekly Extensions

Renters may book an initial rental term of 1, 2, or 3 consecutive weeks at checkout. If additional time is required after delivery, renters must notify Valley Tote Co. by text or email at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup date. Unplanned extensions are billed weekly to the card on file at the package rate ($35/wk for 20 bins, $50/wk for 40 bins, $70/wk for 60 bins) and are subject to fleet availability. Due to inventory scheduling, the maximum allowable consecutive rental period is four (4) weeks (28 days). Any bins retained beyond 28 days without written approval will be deemed converted to permanent ownership and charged at the flat $20.00 buyout fee per bin.

2. Strict Delivery & Pickup Access (No In-Home Entry)

Exterior Drop-Off Only: Delivery is strictly limited to ground-level, accessible exterior areas: curbside, exterior driveway, porch, or ground-floor garage roll-up. Valley Tote Co. personnel will not enter private residences, apartment interiors, or backyards under any circumstances.

Pickup Protocol: On your scheduled pickup date, all rented totes must be empty, nested, paired with their snap lids, and placed outside at the ground-floor exterior drop-off point prior to our arrival window.

Stairs & Walk-Up Surcharges: Standard service covers ground-level drop-off and pickup only. If our personnel must traverse two or more flights of stairs without an elevator, a mandatory flat fee of $25 per flight trip applies. If bins are not brought outside and require upstairs retrieval, this fee will be billed automatically to the card on file.

3. Packing Guidelines, Weight Limits & Prohibited Items

Weight Limit: Each 27-gallon tote has an absolute maximum interior weight limit of 75 lbs. Do not exceed this capacity.

Stacking Restrictions: When packed, do not stack bins more than four (4) units high. Always place the heaviest bins on the bottom. Over-stacking or placing heavy, concentrated point-loads on top of lids can cause them to cave in, crack the plastic, and crush interior contents. Any container or lid damaged due to improper stacking is subject to the standard damage fee.

Strictly Prohibited Contents: Renters agree NOT to pack, transport, or store:

• Any liquids, corrosive chemicals, motor oils, fuels, solvents, paints, or liquid cleaning agents.
• Flammable, combustible, explosive, or hazardous materials.
• Perishable, open, or unsealed food products.
• Biological waste, medical materials, or pest-infested items.

4. Equipment Care, Cleaning & Flat Damage Fees

All bins are delivered disinfected, clean, and in working order. Containers must be returned empty and in the same functional condition.

Tape & Adhesive Restrictions: Use only the provided removable peel-and-stick labels on the designated smooth surface zones. Do not apply duct tape, packing tape, masking tape, or permanent markers directly to the plastic. A $3.00 per bin adhesive cleanup fee will apply to any containers returned with heavy tape residue.

Flat Damage & Replacement Fee: Normal minor exterior scuffs are expected. However, if a container is cracked, warped from over-stacking, broken, melted, stained with chemicals, lost, or unreturned at pickup, a flat fee of $20.00 per damaged bin will be charged to the card on file. This single flat fee applies equally regardless of whether the damage is to the lid, the tub, or both.

Excessive Cleaning Fee: A separate $10.00 per bin sanitation fee applies if a container is returned with bio-waste, rotting food residue, wet paint, or oil.

5. "Keep-It" Buyout Option

Renters may permanently keep any rented container for garage, closet, or home storage. Leave your items packed inside and notify our team at or before pickup.

Flat Buyout Rate: $20.00 per complete bin (includes the 27-gallon tub and matching snap lid).

Automatic Billing: All buyout charges are processed directly to the card on file upon pickup completion.

Keep-It buyouts are final and permanently transfer ownership of the container to the renter.

6. Limitation of Liability & Property Waiver

Valley Tote Co. provides rental containers only. We are not a moving company and do not pack, load, or transport customer belongings.

Valley Tote Co. is not liable for any lost, damaged, stolen, or broken personal property packed inside our bins during transit, storage, or moving.

The renter assumes full responsibility for securing their items, packing fragile belongings with adequate protective padding, and adhering to weight limits.

Valley Tote Co. is not liable for surface scuffs or minor wear to exterior driveways, walkways, or curbs during standard drop-off and retrieval.

In all circumstances, Valley Tote Co.'s total liability is strictly limited to the rental fees paid by the customer for the specific order.

7. Credit Card Authorization

By placing an order, the renter authorizes Valley Tote Co. to keep the payment method on file and charge any applicable weekly extension fees, stair fees, out-of-radius mileage surcharges ($2.00/mile past our 10-mile primary zone), excessive cleaning fees, damage replacements ($20/bin), or Keep-It buyout fees ($20/bin) incurred under this agreement.
